1. Beef Taco Recipes are a Favorite With Meat Eaters

This is the best taco recipe because you can switch out the beef out for poultry, seafood, or even your favorite veggies. It’s also an easy taco recipe because it takes only 20 minutes to make and it won’t break your bank.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground meat of your choice
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup chopped onion (choose your favorite)
  • 1 to 3 garlic cloves, finely minced, or 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8-ounce can tomato sauce
  • 1 jalapeno, seeded and finely minced*
  • Taco shells

*Optional

Directions:

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground meat, onion, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes stirring frequently. Make sure the meat is broken into small pieces.
  2. Remove from the heat and drain off any excess grease.
  3. Place the skillet back on the stove and stir in the garlic, chili powder, cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 30 minutes.
  4. Add the tomato sauce and minced jalapenos*. Simmer for about 5-10 minutes while stirring occasionally. Season to taste.

You can also use this recipe to make a delicious taco salad as well. Just break up the taco shells and add them to your salad for an extra crunch! Add your favorite toppings to make it your own.

2. Grilled Shrimp Tacos

If you’re searching for the best taco recipe to use shrimp in, this is definitely it. It’s made with sriracha slaw and it’s a combination your mouth won’t soon forget.

Best of all, this easy taco recipe only takes 10 minutes to prepare.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 c. extra-virgin olive oil
  • Juice of 3 limes, divided
  • 3 tbsp. freshly chopped cilantro
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Kosher salt
  • 1 lb. large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 head red cabbage, shredded
  • 1/4 c. mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp. sriracha
  • 4 medium tortillas

Directions:

  1. Mix together in a small bowl your olive oil, cilantro, and 1/3 of the lime juice. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Add your shrimp and toss until completed coated. Let it marinate for 20 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, toss cabbage with mayo, add the remaining lime juice and Sriracha. Season with salt.
  4. Heat grill to high. Skewer shrimp and grill until charred, about 3 minutes per side.
  5. Grill tortillas until charred, about 1 minute per side.
  6. Serve shrimp in tortillas with slaw

This recipe makes enough for four servings and if you’re a seafood lover, it’s one of the best tacos you’ll ever eat.

3. Organic Chicken Verde Tacos

When it comes to Mexican tacos, this chicken Verde recipe will have everyone you serve it to say, “Ole!” Best of all, there are only three steps you need to take to make these delicious tacos.

Ingredients:

Chicken

  • 2 large organic chicken breasts
  • 1 jar Trader Joe’s Salsa Verde
  • 1/4 cup freshly chopped cilantro
  • red chili flakes
  • ground pepper

Tacos

  • 2 cups mixed greens or spinach
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 lime
  • 1 cup sweet potato diced
  • 1/2 tbsp olive or avocado oil
  • 3 tbsp roasted pumpkin seeds
  • 1/4 cup freshly chopped cilantro
  • 3 tbsp roasted pumpkin seeds
  • tortillas

Directions:

  1. Using a large pot, place the chicken breasts and salsa verde. Heat on medium-high. Cover and boil for 12-15 minutes, the chicken should be cooked through and tender.
  2. Using two forks, shred the chicken on your cutting board. It should fall easily apart. Placed shredded chicken back in the pot and add cilantro, chili flakes, and ground pepper. Toss until thoroughly mixed.
  3. Saut? sweet potato in oil for about 5-10 minutes until it’s tender.

Now you can build your tacos. You can heat your tortillas over an open flame to warm them up. Simply flip them over until they begin to bubble or brown.

Layer your tortilla with your ingredients and enjoy!

4. Vegan Cauliflower Tacos

Cauliflower is having its moment in the sun. This nutritious veggie is perfect to use if you’re vegan or just trying to eat healthier. Best of all, it’s an easy taco recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 small Head Cauliflower (about 1 1/2 cups)
  • 4 oz Fresh Mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup Walnuts*
  • 2 Tbs Soy Sauce
  • 2 tsp Ground Cumin
  • 2 Tbs Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Pepper

*Optional

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  2. Place mushrooms in a food processor and pulse lightly until you achieve a rice-like consistency
  3. If using walnuts, do the same with them and then mix them together in a large bowl
  4. Remove the core and leaves of your cauliflower and cut into small pieces
  5. In your food processor, pulse your cauliflower to the same consistency as the mushrooms and walnuts. Add to the bowl.
  6. Stir in soy sauce
  7. Stir in spices and thoroughly mix together
  8. Spread mixture onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Stir lightly and then bake for an additional 10-15 minutes

This recipe takes about one hour to prepare and bake.

5. Pulled Pork Tacos

Pulled pork is great to use in Mexican tacos. However, it does take anywhere from five to nine hours to cook the pork properly. This is a great recipe to pull out when you’re planning a party and want to impress your guests. Soho Taco can help you plan.

Ingredients:

  • 4 lb. pork shoulder
  • 1 c. barbecue sauce
  • Juice of 3 limes, divided
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. chili powder
  • 2 tbsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 head cabbage, shredded
  • 1 whole pineapple, cut and diced
  • 2 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1/2 small red onion, sliced
  • 1 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
  • 8 corn tortillas

Directions:

  1. In a 6-quart slow-cooker, add pork. Combine your barbecue sauce juice of two limes, brown sugar, chili powder, garlic powder, and cayenne in a medium bowl. Mix into a thick paste and then spread it evenly over your pork.
  2. Cook on high for 5 to 6 hours or on low 8 to 9 hours, until tender, then shred.
  3. You can prepare the slaw right before it’s ready to eat. Combine cabbage, pineapple, remaining lime juice, olive oil, green onions, red onion, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Add the pulled pork and slaw to your tortillas.
