You can make it the ultimate party by having a theme that everyone can have fun with. Pick a decade to focus on or have everyone dress as their favorite literary character. You could choose a particular country or a movie series to base all your decorations and outfits on.

Whatever theme you choose, you can add to the fun with games or music to compliment it. Picking something that can let you go wild with decorations and setting up a photo booth will help make it a party that’s remembered for a long time.

Name That Tune

You can leave a lasting impression by putting some thought and planning into the music you’re going to play or activities you’ll do during your get together. 

If your friends are musically inclined, have them bring their instruments and turn your party into a jam session or live band karaoke. For those without musical talent, you could have a DJ playing music or set up a big screen with videos or a kaleidoscope background that moves to the music played.

Eat, Drink, and Be Merry

One thing that makes or breaks any party and that’s the first thing out of everyone’s mouth is the food. It’s the first thing Instagram-ed or shared on Facebook. If it’s bad, there’s sure to be a tweet.

If you want rave reviews of your party consider catering services or making a spread of your best executed Martha Stewart worthy dishes.

You could have a Master Chef party where everyone has certain ingredients and they have to come up with a course or dish for the meal. They can be as plain or outrageous of ingredients as you want, and see how creative your friends are in the kitchen.

Drinks 

You could hire a bartender. Or ask a friend if you can’t hire one because you haven’t won the lottery yet.

You could have drinks that match your party vibe. Add your own personality to the party. A few small things like glowing ice cubes or a martini bar could quench your guests thirst for a unique party.

It doesn’t have to be a drunken affair. Consider a smoothie or juice bar instead of the usual focus on alcohol.

Along with a blender, have various kinds of fruit, yogurt, juice, and ice, and see everyone’s creativity as they experiment with new flavor combinations. Turn it into a game to see who makes the best or most original beverage.

Be Merry

If you live in a state or country that has legalized Marijuana, consider some tokes and some jokes. Put your favorite comedy on a big screen in the backyard, set up some lawn chairs or loungers and have some laughs.

If it’s legal to have edibles in your area, consider having a potluck where everyone brings their favorite edible treats.

If marijuana isn’t legal in your area, you can still have some laughs. Watch a comedy, play some minute to win it games, or pull out a party board game. Everyone will get to know each other better and have some fun in the process.
