The Top 10 Best Restaurants in London for a Meal That Will Change Your Life

Why did you come to London? Because it’s a historical city and a cultural center? Or was it because . . . you wanted to eat? If it’s the second reason (or the first and you’re hungry) we’ve got the list for you.

Don’t know where to start? Start with our list of the best restaurants in London below!

1. Westerns Laundry

If you want some seafood inland, but not just the classic fish, scallops, and shrimp, head to Westerns Laundry. Their website says they focus on “produce from the sea.” Ever had cods cheeks? Have them as a confit here.

However, their menu changes daily so you have to check their Instagram for the menu.

2. Black Axe Manal

What do the initials of this restaurant spell? BAM! (no reference to Emril) Bam is what their food will say to your taste buds as it wows you.

You’ll never look at their menu and think, “I could get that anywhere”. If you like instagrammable food and locations it’s where you want to be. Charred corn and crunchy shrimp? We think yes.

3. Roti King

Not as much of an Indian restaurant as it sounds. This is a Chinese-Malaysian restaurant in a tiny basement over on Doric way. It’s all good prices, but be prepared to go back or more.

Get their curry dhal, for less than 5 pounds.

4. Rochelle Canteen

Around Arnold Circus is the 12-year-old restaurant Rochelle Canteen. It’s a high-class and highly delicious European restaurant with French and American influence. You can get classics like mushroom quiche or have some rabbit.

Whatever you’re feeling that day! It’s literally in the back of the school it’s named for and used to be the cafeteria. Lucky students!

5. Honey And Co

In Fitzrovia, there’s a cute cafe that looks more like a chic dining room. In it you’ll find Mediterranean food that’s to die for. House baked pita and hummus, pastries. teas – it’s all here.

6. Sushi Tetsu

Twenty years ago there weren’t a lot of Japanese restaurants in London. However, now there are! This is one of the best Japanese restaurants in London – that is if you can get in.

They only open up seven seats per night.

7. Noble Rot

There’s not a lot we can say about this restaurant except its classic British food with a twist. There’s a wine list we would take a year drinking through – it’s not one you want to miss.

8. DUM Biryani House

This is another highly creative menu restaurant, cooked by a young and well known London Chef. Dhrub Mittal knows his way around the kitchen, but also the London restaurant scene.

Check out their bottomless brunch on Sundays for a boozy date.

9. Core by Clare Smyth

We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention Clare, who has three Michelin stars. She used to work for big names like Gordon Ramsay before she struck out on her own.

10. 40 Maltby Street

We admire a business that doesn’t mess around with silly things like names. This restaurant is British food, but done better than even your mom can make it. Don’t miss this choice – you won’t even have to look up the address!
