Rest In Peace On The Moon, For A Mere $12,000
Have you ever found yourself staring up at the moon and wishing you could one day go there, (but deep down knowing you never will).
Well day dream no more, as reaching the moon is very much a reality for a mere $12,000. The only downside is you will be dead when you reach there.
Thanks to a San Francisco startup named Elysium Space, Celestial funerals are now a possibility. For the reasonable fee of $12,000, the company will privately transport your cremated remains to the moon!
Founded by former NASA engineer Thomas Civeit, Elysium is dedicated to bringing space and funeral experts together to provide what they believe to be a very popular service. In a recent press release the company said:
Families now have the historic opportunity to commemorate their departed loved ones every night through the everlasting splendour and soft illumination of the Earth’s closest companion: the moon.”
The service only started being offered in August of 2015, after Elysium signed a deal with space logistics company Astrobotic Technology.
If you are interested, the order book is now open with the first batch of ashes due to travel to the moon on the Griffin Lander spacecraft – Astrobotic’s inaugural lunar mission – in 2017.
