Minnesota Vikings Schedule and Predictions for 2020 Season

With all the heartbreak and tragedy that has taken place in Minnesota recently, let’s take some time to focus on a much lighter topic, football.

According to Pro Football Reference, the Minnesota Vikings have been in the playoffs 2 out of the last 3 years. They lost to the 49ers in the divisional round in 2019 and suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Eagles during their miracle run in 2017.

Blessed with one of the best ground attacks in the NFL helps them out, but the free agency was not so kind to the Vikings.

Here are Vikings predictions for the Minnesota Vikings schedule in 2020.

2020 Minnesota Vikings Schedule

The Minnesota Vikings are tied for the tenth hardest schedule in the league out of the 32 teams with a .516 win average.

Their odds of winning the Super Bowl are +2000. They are ranked 9th in the league, and 6th in the NFC based on these odds.

The Vikings have sustained some major losses in free agency, including big losses on defense with the likes of Linval Joseph, Trae Waynes, Everson Griffen, Xavier Rhodes, and more. On the offensive side of the ball, they lost playmakers like Stefon Digs and Right Guard, Josh Kline.

This will make it tougher to move in the direction of a Super Bowl.

Here is a list of the games from week 1 through 17.

Week 1: Packers @ Vikings (W) Vikings 24, Packers 17
Week 2: Vikings @ Colts (W) Vikings 28, Colts 20

Week 16: Vikings @ Saints (L) Vikings 21, Saints 35
Week 17: Vikings @ Lions (W) Vikings 24, Lions 7

Post-Season Predictions

Based on the strength of their schedule, we feel the Vikings will end the year with a 10-6 record. This is due to hard games against the Titans, Seahawks, Packers, Bears, Cowboys, and Saints.

This record will be enough to make the playoffs, albeit in wild card weekend. While they get past the wild card round, we see them falling in the Championship round to a tougher opponent, most likely the Eagles.

Despite the season finishing without a Super Bowl run, we predict Vikings fans to still be loyal with their traditional, Viking bearded axe and skol chants.
